CSC Golf at Nationals

May 22nd, 2008

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up that our college is being represented at the National Golf Tournament by Joe Hoskins who shot 74 in the first round and 84 in the second round to stand in 75th place and Brett Wedemeier shot 79-91 to stand in 116th place.  I know Coach Betts is struggling through a tough week in Phoenix, AZ!!  It is great to see our young programs like golf and cross country thriving after only a few years.  Cross country sends runner(s) every year to their nationals and now golf is too.  Congratulations to these young men and their accomplishments as they represent their college and team.  Shout out to Coach Betts(Golf) and Coach Tracy(CC) for a job well done.

The Chargers were able to actually play some games on Wednesday. The softball team spilt with conference foe Black Hawk. The win against the 11th ranked team in NJCAA Division  II Softball   should be a major confidence builder as the team prepares for the tournament. The baseball team split with Illinois Valley ,losing the first game 3-0 and winning the second by a margin of 10 runs in the fifth inning. Since then the rain has put an end to everything. The softball game with MCC for tomorrow has been cancelled. Baseball has a major conference match up at Black Hawk.
